About this Seminar

The CDSS will be hosting a Continuing Professional Dental Education (CPDE) seminar in Napa Valley from May 13 – 17, 2020. CPDE seminar will be presented by Drs. Kabir Virdi and Volinder Dhesi on May 14 & 15, 2020, from 8AM to Noon both days. There will be 8 CE credits awarded.

Dr. Virdi’s seminar objectives:

  • Medical/Medication implications in Implant Dentistry
  • Ideal implant positioning
  • Radiographic complications and Evaluation
  • Intraoperative Complications: Bleeding, Infection, Bone Grafting,
  • Neurosensory complications (to name a few!)

Dr. Dhesi’s seminar objectives:

  • Update on Current Dental Implant Restorative Process
  • Review of Digital Dental Implant Restorative Workflow
  • Review of Custom Abutments vs. Tibase restorations
  • How to communicate the benefit of Dental Implant therapy to patients
  • Bone Level Vs. Tissue Level Dental Implants

Packages include: seminar fee, optional components are airfare to San Francisco, 4 nights accommodation at the Andaz Hotel Napa Valley, Winery Tour & Tasting Events and return luxury coach transportation from San Francisco. You are not required to stay at the host hotel to attend the seminar. You are welcome to book your own travel if you prefer.

About Dr. Kabir Virdi

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon

Dr. Virdi was born and raised in Saskatoon. He completed his undergraduate dental training at the University of Saskatchewan in 2003. After graduation, he served three years as a general dentist with the rank of captain at National Defense Headquarters in Ottawa, Canada. In 2006, Dr. Virdi retired from the military to pursue specialty training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago, IL where he graduated in 2010. Dr. Virdi currently works at Saskatoon Oral Surgery and is also the course director of undergraduate oral and maxillofacial surgery, local anesthesia and pain control, and basic internal medicine at the University of Saskatchewan College of Dentistry.

Dr. Virdi enjoys practicing a broad scope oral and maxillofacial surgery. His main interests are implant dentistry, orthognathic surgery, pathology and reconstructive temporomandibular joint (TMJ) surgery. Current interests also include the expanding use of computer-assisted surgical design and CT-guided surgery.

About Dr. Volinder Dhesi


Dr. Dhesi received his DMD from the University of Saskatchewan in 2003. He currently resides in Calgary, AB where is co-founder and Clinical Director of TREC Dental. TREC Dental operates 14 offices in and around Calgary and is a values-based organization with a high emphasis on social responsibility. Dr. Dhesi consulted for 3M as part of the Council for Innovative Dentistry and is currently a Key Opinion Leader (KOL) for Denstply Sirona on digital imaging and in office milling. Dr. Dhesi is part of the lecturing faculty for the Mini Residency Program for Straumann.

Outside of dentistry Dr. Dhesi has his WSET LEVEL 3 certification in Wine and Spirits and is an avid collector of wine.
